B i o g r a p h y

Nino Felbab was born in Zrenjanin (Serbia) where he began his musical education. He studied clarinet with Prof.  Andrej Gigic at music school “Josif Marinkovic” in Zrenjanin. 

 

In 2007 he began bachelor studies at the Music Academy in Belgrade with Prof. Ante Grgin, and in the very beginning of his studies showed strong potential and exceptional talent that led to many successes, varying from different concert performances, orchestral activities, chamber music ensembles, competitions. Same year he won 2nd prize on the state competition in Belgrade, and International competition in Pozarevac (Serbia). In 2009 Nino won 3rd prize at the prestigious International competition “Ohrid Pearls” and only a year later won 1st prize on the International competition “Petar Konjovic” as well as International competition dedicated to the composer Davorin Jenko.  

 

Important part of his professional development were numerous master classes with some of the most important clarinetists of the world's musical scene. Nino learned from  Yehuda Gilad, Mate Bekavac, Aleksandar Tasic,  David Griffiths, Andreas Sundén,  ‎Björn Nyman, Francois Benda, Martin Kuuskman and Martin Frost.

 

In 2010 Nino moved to Norway, as he received a scholarship from the Norwegian government to study in Stavanger with Prof. Håkon Vestly. There he had his master degree with the highest mark and in 2013 he enrolled the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo under the guidance of Prof.  Leif Arne Pedersen. In 2015 Nino got his second master degree from Musikk-Akademie Basel  where he studied with Prof. Francois Benda. 

 

He regularly performs with pianist Anja Stojanovic, with whom he established duo “MEMENTO” and as a guest musician he often shares the stage with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK), Music in Nordland chamber ensemble and Arktisk Sinfonietta.

He performed on many  festivals in Norway and abroad such as Chamber Music Festival in Oudewater (Netherland), Musikkfestuka Festival in Bodø (Norway), Crusell Music Festival in Finland and others.
